**Cross-Cultural Symphony: Taiwan and New Zealand Musicians Join Forces for Spectacular Free Concert in Auckland**
**AUCKLAND, NZ** – A massive 100-piece orchestral and choral collaboration is set to fill Auckland’s iconic Holy Trinity Cathedral next month. On **Saturday, 8 August 2026**, the **Taiwan-New Zealand International Exchange Concert — *“Music from Formosa, Harmonies from Aotearoa”*** will bring together premier young talent from both nations for a one-off, free public performance.
The concert marks a significant cultural bridge, featuring four major visiting Taiwanese ensembles—the **Changhua City Orchestra**, **Xizhi City Philharmonic Orchestra**, **Kaohsiung Feng Yuan Choir**, and the **Xiyin Saxophone Orchestra**—performing alongside one of New Zealand's premier youth ensembles, the **Auckland Youth Orchestra**.
Audiences will be treated to a rich repertoire showcasing the highest levels of musicianship from both regions. The programme highlights the vibrant heritage of Taiwan, featuring classic folk songs and contemporary works full of Taiwanese charm.
In a exciting first for local audiences, the musical showcase will also incorporate contemporary physical theatre and movement, featuring the striking talents of Taiwan’s emerging generation of dancers.
